The Best Things To Do In London During This Unusual Winter

As the weather finally begins to turn cold, it becomes more apparent that autumn is nearly over, and winter will soon be upon us. Keep in mind, however, that we are still a country in lockdown and, while that can certainly put a damper on our seasonal fun, it is still important that we do whatever we can to get out and enjoy ourselves as much as possible when some restrictions are lifted. For many, that might have meant visiting their favourite local pub for a cosy meal or taking in a holiday film festival. Unfortunately, those options aren’t available to us currently, but there are some things that we can do right here in London during this rather unusual winter.

With that in mind, we are going to take a look at some of the best things to do in London during lockdown. Let’s get started:

Watch Christmas Movies- it can be a fun time for families with small children to spend the whole afternoon watching Christmas movies. Parents can create a movie marathon schedule for the entire holiday season, allowing children to choose their favourite Christmas shows that they can watch with the rest of the family. A great movie for quality family time is ‘Inside out’, an incredible fun story for both children and adults to explore feelings and relationships, perfect with a bowl of popcorn and some hot chocolate.

Go To Christmas Festivals- there are still some safe, socially distanced Christmas festivals that can be a lot of fun. There are events at these festivals which will make the season seem much more merry and bright such as The Winter Village at Battersea Power Station from 28th November. Our Organic, red and blue stripe print Tote bag is the perfect bag to take on any Christmas adventure, either carried over your shoulder or folded in your bag, it’s  strong enough to carry your essentials and Christmas shopping.

Participate In Winter Sports- this can be anything from going on a country walk in one of London beautiful parks like Battersea to fun skating in outdoor ice rinks that are great for all the family. If we’re lucky it might snow this winter, which would make the season all that bit more magical and would allow for fun snow tubing, sledding and lots of winter fun. Our drawstring bag is ideal to keep your winter essentials such as hats and gloves, to make sure they are easy to reach in the cold weather.

Private Lessons- another great way children can have fun this winter is by going to locally taught extracurricular activities and participating in a privately taught class. These can include arts and crafts, textile design and making, sewing, cooking, Spanish, and educational group games. Blanca Romero offers a wide range of kids activities including both private and group lessons which take place at schools, after school clubs, and nurseries. Her private lessons are designed for small groups of children in their own setting or at Blanca’s studio in Wandsworth.
